FreeOrion

The universe is the environment chosen by the creators of FreeOrion to place this game. In this turn-based strategy title, your goal is to eliminate all adversary colonies and spacecrafts. However, you first have to create a solid empire, conquer new planetary systems and investigate new technologies.

You can play FreeOrion through a local network or the internet. If you decide to play independently, you must know that the AI hasn't been already developed, so the enemies just wait to be eliminated by your troops.

The maps where the game takes place are maps of different galaxies generated aleatorily. However, you can choose the shape: ring, spiral, elliptical, or irregular. Other features that can be edited are: the number of stars, the age, or planets' density.

Combine natural and human resources, feed your troops, and build buildings and spaceships. That's the key to conquering the whole galaxy.
